Toronto Nightime Timelapse

Toronto the good from Oscar Flores on Vimeo.

If you’ve cruised my blog before, you may have noticed that I’m a big fan of time-lapses… Well there’s a new one based out of Toronto, shot by Oscar Flores, celebrating the city at night and per usual, I love it!

The city at night is a beautiful thing; the lights, the sounds, the energy and more. NYC has always been known at the city that never sleeps, and people have always compared Toronto to the same vibe. I’m not too sure how true this is (and part of me always doubts the comparison), but I do know that it’s pretty darn magical to witness either way.

Time Lapse: Toronto Is Home

Another time lapse of Toronto, this time from Javin Lau, called Toronto is Home. Javin’s description attached to the video has an underlying message about Toronto and where we hold our selves in comparison to other cities and our true worth and/or value. At the end of the description he says we’re a city “just finding our way.”

I agree that we’re finding our way, but I also think that we’re often misunderstood and too often compared to others. Too often we are compared to other cities and it would be great if Toronto had the ability to be incomparable; think New York, Chicago, Miami, Montreal etc. These cities are incomparable because they stand on their own. It’d be nice if people could say “Toronto is just Toronto. It’s unlike any other city. You CANNOT compare them.” I say that often, but sometimes I’d like to hear that from others too.

Anyways. Great video. There are some fantastic shots in here. I love the night time shots especially. Also, awesome song! I’ve been on a big Clams Casino kick since late last year, and “All I Need” by them is the featured song in this video. Good stuff all around.
